Lessonotes – Terms of Use for Downloaded Content

These Terms of Use govern how you may use lesson notes, exam questions, and any other downloadable materials (the “Content”) made available through the Lessonotes applications (including, but not limited to, Lessonotes Ghana and Lessonotes Liberia) and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By downloading or exporting any Content from the Service (for example, via in‑app download or export buttons), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use in addition to any general Lessonotes terms and privacy policies that apply to your account.

1. Ownership of Content

All Content (including lesson notes, schemes of work, exam questions, assessments, templates, and related materials) is owned by Lessonotes and/or its licensors. The Content is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws and international treaties.

You are granted a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, and revocable license to use the Content strictly in accordance with these Terms.

2. Permitted Educational Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Lessonotes authorises you to:

  • Download or export Content for your own personal, non‑commercial classroom use as a teacher or educator.
  • Adapt or annotate the Content for use with your own learners in your own classes or school, provided that such adaptations are not redistributed or sold (see section 3).
  • Store the Content on your personal devices, school computer, or secure cloud storage solely for the purpose of planning and delivering your teaching.

All permitted use must be in support of teaching and learning activities that you personally deliver or coordinate. Any use outside of this scope requires prior written consent from Lessonotes.

3. Prohibited Uses and Redistribution

To protect the work of Lessonotes and its partner educators, you may not:

  • Upload, share, or redistribute the Content (or any substantial part of it) on public platforms, websites, social media, marketplaces, forums, or file‑sharing services.
  • Forward or broadcast the Content in WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels, email lists, or any other group or community channels where recipients are not under your direct supervision as your own learners.
  • Sell, rent, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Content, whether in its original or modified form, including but not limited to selling printed copies, PDFs, Word files, or digital lesson packs based on Lessonotes materials.
  • Include the Content as part of another paid product, course, or subscription service.
  • Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright notices, branding, watermarks, or other proprietary markings found in the Content.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to mass‑download or scrape Content from the Service beyond what is reasonable for normal classroom planning.

If you are a school owner or administrator and wish to deploy Lessonotes content across multiple teachers or schools, please contact Lessonotes to discuss an appropriate licensing arrangement.

4. Exams, Assessments, and Academic Integrity

Lessonotes provides exam questions and assessments to support teaching and internal evaluation. You agree to use such Content responsibly and in accordance with your school’s or examination body’s rules on assessment and academic integrity.

You must not:

  • Distribute exam questions or answer keys to learners in a way that compromises the fairness or integrity of formal assessments.
  • Represent Lessonotes assessments as official exam papers of any external examining body unless explicitly indicated.

5. User Responsibility and Data Security

Once Content has been downloaded or exported to your device or storage, you are responsible for keeping it secure and preventing unauthorised access, copying, or distribution.

Lessonotes is not responsible for any misuse of Content after it has been downloaded to your devices or systems.

6. Termination of Access and License

If you breach these Terms of Use, Lessonotes may, at its sole discretion:

  • Suspend or terminate your access to the Service.
  • Revoke your license to use any previously downloaded Content.
  • Take appropriate legal action to protect its rights and the rights of its partners.

Upon termination, you must stop using the Content and, where reasonably possible, delete any copies from your devices and storage systems (except where retention is required by law).

7. Changes to These Terms

Lessonotes may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of downloaded or exported Content after such changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
